The Chana Scientific Station for Language Sciences and Interculturality is a collaborative project aimed at developing interdisciplinary research in Peru. It is driven by three leading institutions in the field: the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), the University of Zurich, and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

The project is led by Dr. Roberto Zariquiey, Associate Professor of Linguistics at PUCP, in direct collaboration with Dr. Balthasar Bickel, Head of the Department of Comparative Language Science at the University of Zurich, and Dr. Russell Gray, Director of the Department of Linguistics and Cultural Evolution at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

The Chana Scientific Station also has an international scientific committee, which brings together leading researchers in fields related to its area of action. Chana is open to researchers committed to developing interdisciplinary research in and from Peru and enthusiastically welcomes their research interests, as long as they align with its research lines and ethical commitment. Chana provides logistical support and scientific exchange to researchers interested in carrying out their projects at the field station.

Research at Chana is conceived as a formative space with a strong ethical commitment and is expected to offer fair employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as for the local population. In this regard, Chana is committed to its community environment and hopes to become a strategic ally for Amazonian indigenous peoples and local organizations in Peru, contributing to the formation of indigenous science and the development of multimodal and computational tools for the revitalization of Peru's indigenous languages.
